The line formed early for tonight's premiere of Matthew McConaughey in "Surfer, Dude" in Newport Beach. The line started early at 6 p.m. for the 7:15 p.m. showing at Regal Cinema's Island 7 theaters.
The crowd and security were anxiously awaiting McConaughey's arrival, which was delayed because of LA traffic.
McConaughey greeted the Newport Beach crowds by making appearences in two different theaters and he gave away a signed surfboard. He talked and let the audience members snap photos of him. There were some journalists from the OC Register and the Daily Pilot in attendance.
Overall, the movie was funny and enjoyable with a few memorable one-liners. I thought the movie gave me moments of lightheartedness that I appreciated from having a hard work week.
