The Winter Gala, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center will be held at the Irvine Marriott Hotel on Sunday, December 19, 2010. This special event is a benefit for the Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center's vital programs in senior job training, job placement, senior health, and community service programs.

The AASCSC is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the awareness of the needs of the Asian American elderly, assisting their access to essential health care and social services, and promoting a dignified living in the community. We have provided outstanding programs in senior employment, cancer control, senior health program, and senior/community services. Our services are open and available to the entire community. The AASCSC has been recognized as having the best Senior Employment Training and placement record in the nation. Our Cancer Control Program has saved many women’s lives by offering free clinical breast mammograms and cervical screenings for uninsured and underinsured women in Orange County.

The gala evening will honor AASCSC's major donors: Thomas and Misa Yuen of Newport Coast, David Sun, Harry Tang, the Cathay Bank Foundation, Si Yuan Foundation in Hongkong, Ruth Ding of Laguna Niguel, David and May Hsu, Peggy and Roger Strait, Amy Wong, Mark and Angela Wang, AreaCAOC Chapter, Mary Quon Murphy, and Michael Quon. Thomas Yuen is the well respected Chairman and CEO of SRS Labs and of Prime Gen Biotech Corp. Prior to this, Mr. Yuen was the cofounder of AST Research. David Sun is the cofounder of Kingston Technology.

Additionally, the evening will introduce the 2010 AASCSC Young Ambassadors to society for their many contributions to AASCSC as well as to our community. The Young Ambassadors are:

The Winter Gala, an evening of floral beauty, dining, dancing, and superb entertainment, will have Ted Chen, NBC anchor as Master of Ceremonies and Lynn Liou, publisher and editor-in-chief of Vivid Magazine as Mistress of Ceremonies.

Guests will be entertained by Oscar Zhang, tenor, grand prize winner of the Carlo Bergonzi North American International Opera Competition, first place winner of the Florham International Opera Competition, and a prize winner of the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition.

Adding to the festivities of the evening will be the colorful folk dancers from the American Chinese Cultural Association from Los Angeles. This dance troupe is well known for their many great programs as well as their beautiful costumes.

The Beverly Hills Cotillion Dancers will delight the audience with their elegant Viennese waltzes. The Irvine Chinese Chorus will entertain guests with Christmas songs during cocktail hour.

Tickets donations for the Winter Gala are $100, $250, $500 and $1,000.
